Your handy guide to mental health for people in Manchester 2010.
Information about support for mental health available in Manchester can be found in the updated version of this popular guide. This pocket sized booklet provides a guide through mental health services in Manchester and includes information about maintaining good mental health, contacts for mental health services in primary care and secondary care and specialist services available in the voluntary sector. It has been produced in collaboration with Mind in Manchester and Manchester Public Health Development Service.

The resource is invaluable for anyone working and living in Manchester and is available free of charge from Manchester Public Health Development Service Resource Centres at Victoria Mill, Miles Platting and Withington Hospital, West Didsbury.

This new resource supports health professionals and the public to access non-medical interventions in Manchester which support recovery from mental health problems such as exercise, self help programmes and bibliotherapy. This new resource aims to support people who have a long term physical health condition such as diabetes or coronary heart disease with information about how to look after their emotional wellbeing. This information for the general public explains how people who have a long term condition are more vulnerable to mental health problems because of a range of factors, how to recognise the signs and where to get help.

Men’s Mental Health & Well-Being – CALMA Training Pack
This pack has been designed as a practical guide for practitioners who are doing preventative work with young men aged 16-35 around Mental Health & Well-Being. The pack contains lesson plans, handouts and a DVD which includes photocopiable exercise sheets.
 
This pack is free to organisations operating in Manchester. There is a £50 charge including postage and packaging for those outside Manchester.

Orders must be accompanied by cheque or postal order and made payable to Manchester Primary Care Trust.
